Nowadays, we are all conscious of saving energy.

When it comes to lighting, there are all sorts of new and interesting designs for light globes which are energy efficient. There are some that remain the classic shape but with a new shade of light giving the atmosphere a clinical hospital feel and then there are the fluorescent tubes bent and twirled into different shapes also with a new mood lighting effect.

It’s fair to say that they are becoming more unattractive and who knows where it’s headed in terms of design.

It would be a shame to lose the old school light bulb forever! And with the current waste that is happening with our earth, how about we recycle our light globes?

Presenting a quirky use of recycled light bulbs…. a hanging glass vase!

These are individually, very carefully and most intricately gutted of their inner workings and recreated to become a vase with a convenient hanging device.

jesame and Fowlers Flowers make beautiful music together

 

I’m so happy to have a new stockist on board; a beautiful florist called Fowlers Flowers in Melbourne’s hip inner city suburb of Clifton Hill.

Lauren, owner and florist extraordinaire, and Megan also a floral whiz make a clever and creative duo. They have totally outdone themselves with a stunning display using jesame hanging glass vases and free standing vases.

Who would have thought to hang pianola rolls from ceiling to floor in their bay window as a backdrop?

Their beautiful window display showcases paperwhites (part of the daffodil & jonquil family) in a set of four ‘bessie’ vases, which sit at the base of three hanging pianola music rolls. And in front of each music roll, at head height, are ‘eloise’ and ‘mabelle’ hanging glass vases.

This inspired display not only looks delightful, it has a sweet and cheery fragrance perfect for the season.
